4 5/8" by 1 7/8" Wing Bannerstone. Recovered in Union County Ohio. Ex. William Buckley collection. Great patina, & mineral deposits on this heavily patinated Green Banded Slate Bannerstone. Mr. Dickey does note that the hole "appears to be old but has been subjected to abrasive cleaning methods"
The hole does have some light scratches under magnification, but the surface of this banner and the hole has a heavy patina and great mineral deposits. I do not believe this piece was cleaned, but rather literally played with by putting a stick through the hole. This piece will not disappoint!
